Who Will Go For Us? – 3/8/20 – Missions Conference

Watch this message here:

Who Will Go For Us?

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

I. THOSE THAT HAVE SEEN GOD – vs. 1-5

A. Notice the Timing

NOTE: You won’t see the King of Kings until your own king dies.

You can’t look at 2 kings at the same time.

  • Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

B. Notice the Throne

God is always on the throne. The problem is most people don’t see Him there.

Isaiah saw Him high and lifted up. He is exalted above all creation.

Psalm 113

  • 4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
  • 5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
  • 6 Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!

C. Notice the Train

This train was the skirts of the high priest.

This signifies God’s Position – the bigger the train, the bigger the authority. His train filled the temple.

This signifies God’s Power – The Syrophenician woman just touched the hem of his garment.

This signifies God’s Presence – notice where his train was. It filled the house of God!

  • Not the stadium.
  • Not the shopping mall.
  • Not the deer stand.
  • Not the bass boat.
  • Not the golf cart.
  • Not the mountain cabin.
  • Not the beach condo.
  • Not the recliner in front of the TV.
  • The presence of God filled the Temple!!!
  1. 1His train filled the temple.
  2. 4The posts of the temple moved at his voice.
  3. 4The house was filled with smoke.

WATCH THIS!!

God was seated on the THRONE, but his train filled the TEMPLE.

NOTE: I can understand someone never seeing the Lord if they go to a dead church where God never shows up, but here at Calvary Baptist church, His train has filled the temple many times!

The posts have been moved at his voice many times!

The house of God has been filled with his presence many times!!

D. Notice the Testimony

He is so holy, that the holiest of the angels had to cover their face at His glory. – vs. 2, 3

QUESTION: When was the last time you covered your face at the glory and majesty of God??

They cried unto one another “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord”

QUESTION: When was the last time God’s holiness compelled you to tell somebody else?

When was the last time that you were overwhelmed at the essence and presence of God?

UNDERSTAND!!!!!

You will never see a LOST and DYING until we see the one that LOVED and DIED for us.

We will never have the right perspective of the SINNER until we have the right perspective of the SOVEREIGN!

We will never lift up our eyes and see the FIELDS until we lift up our eyes and see the FATHER!

Many Christians will never see the MISSION FIELD because they have never seen the MASTER’S FACE!

II. THOSE THAT HAVE FELT GOD – vs. 6, 7

A. It was a Personal TouchThen flew one of the seraphims UNTO ME… vs. 6

World evangelism; missions; faith promise; soulwinning – it is all a personal call.

Most Christians ride the coattails of other people.

They sub out the Great Commission.

They join a church that has a soulwinning program but they never go soulwinning with their church.

They join a church that supports missionaries but they do not support missionaries.

They want a pastor with a worldwide burden but their burden is pretty much confined to their 4 and no more.

They want a pastoral staff that fulfills the Great Commission while they sit back and watch.

The question is – WHO WILL GO FOR US? The answer is simple: Those that have felt a personal touch from God.

B. It was a Painful Touch – …having a live coal in his hand…and he laid it upon my mouth…

If being a missionary was easy, there would be more missionaries.

When God comes to you personally and handpicks you for a task, it gets uncomfortable real fast!

When God approaches you with a Divine Plan and begins His selection process, it isn’t fun.

Imagine Isaiah’s mind was racing as the seraphim approached his lips with a live coal.

“What are you doing?? Hey! Hold on a minute!! Stop! Is this going to hurt? Will I feel it?

No doubt, the seraphim said, “Hold still and let’s see!”

C. It was a Purging Touch…thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Missionaries have been called to live an extraordinary life, to take an extraordinary message about an extraordinary God to ordinary people.

God cannot use dirty vessels to carry the message of salvation and sanctification.

III. THOSE THAT HAVE HEARD GOD – vs. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord…

I find it very interesting that it was only after Isaiah was purged that he was able to hear the voice of God.

God may have to wash the dirt out of our ears; our mind; our heart; our hands before we can hear Him.

  • James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

God is always speaking.

He is always speaking through His Word.

He is always speaking through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

He is always speaking through the preaching of the Word.

The problem is not God speaking; the problem is we simply aren’t listening.

Jeremiah 5

  • 21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
  • 22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence…
  • 23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

IV. THOSE THAT HAVE ANSWERED GOD – vs. 8b Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Notice the wording.

Isaiah did not say HERE I AM. He said HERE AM I.

This was not a statement indicating his POSITION, but one that indicated his PRESENTATION.

This was not about his LOCATION, but his new VOCATION.

This was not Isaiah telling God WHERE HE WAS AT, but him telling God WHERE HE WAS GOING.

NOTE: We have all been called to GO.

Instead of God trying to convince you to go, you should be convincing God of why you should stay!

Conclusion: Whom shall I send, and WHO WILL GO FOR US?

  • The SEEING will GO for us.
  • The SANCTIFIED will GO for us.
  • The SENSITIVE will GO for us.
  • The SUBMITTED will GO for us.

Then, and ONLY THEN will you hear God say, GO, AND TELL THIS PEOPLE
