O Magnify the Lord

Psalms 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Intro:

  1. David’s Realizationthere was a whole lot more to God than man knew
  2. David’s Recruitment – …with me
  3. David’s Reverencelet us exalt HIS NAME together. It’s all about HIM!!!

Let us magnify the Lord and exalt His name because of…

I. The Situations that God has Handled

I thought back at the many times this year that I needed God to handle a situation out of my control, and He did!

Aren’t you thankful for a God that can hear and answer prayer!!???

He handled some Family Situations.

I’m thankful that when I don’t know what to do, He does!

I’m thankful that when I’m fresh out of ideas, He knows exactly what needs to be done.

I’m thankful that when I throw my hands up, He reaches His hand down and He intervenes.

He handled some Financial Situations.

  • Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
  • Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

He handled some Fiery Situations.

  • Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Let us magnify the Lord and exalt His name because of…

II. The Sacrifices that God has Honored

God’s people has responded to the needs that have been presented.

What a blessing to see the people of God make sacrifices for the cause of Christ.

This year, we saw our Faith Promise Missions increased substantially.

We were able to build and equip the new Welcome Center, thanks to the sacrifices of God’s people.

God honored the sacrifices of his people and we were able to remodel the nursery.

We were blessed to see God’s people sacrifice for the new parking lot.

God provided over 550 feet of curbing, over 55,000 square feet of asphalt, all the buildings repainted.

We watched God honor the giving of His people!

God honored the sacrificing of their time for ministry.

Let us magnify the Lord and exalt His name because of…

III. The Saints that God has taken Home

I got to reminiscing about some of the saints of God that have gone home this year.

  • Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
  • Betty Dillon
  • Jean Rohrs
  • Virginia Geisler
  • Betty Cullum
  • Carolyn Welk
  • Paul Hammer
  • Ray Walk

Heaven’s sounding sweeter all the time!

As the old song says, “I’ve got more to go to Heaven for, than I had yesterday!”

Let us magnify the Lord and exalt His name because of…

IV. The Souls that God has Helped

As far as I’m concerned, the greatest highlights of the year are the many souls that God has helped!

Backsliders being reclaimed and reignited for the cause of Christ!

Young people that got help at teen camp.

Church members got help during our Summer Revival with Dr. Ingram

The people of God got help during the Prayer Conference.

People that made commitments during the Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night services.

We were able to take a group on a mission’s trip to Mexico and watch God move mightily in that church.

I was able to participate in the dedication of the Mongolian New Testament back in July in Mongolia.

Lost souls being saved is the greatest thing that any church or ministry could witness.

  • Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Souls saved at the rescue missions.

Souls saved in the nursing homes.

Souls were saved during hospital visits.

Souls were saved on door-to-door soulwinning.

Souls were saved during school and chapel services.

Souls were saved during the Friday Night RU ministry.

Souls were saved during the services here at Calvary.

Souls were saved in Junior Church.

Souls were saved during our big days.

Souls were saved at Beast Feast.

Souls were saved during Vacation Bible School.

Souls were saved on Public Servant’s Appreciation Day.

Souls were saved on Harvest Sunday.

Souls were saved during the Thanksgiving Meal service.

Souls were saved during the altar calls nearly every week here at Calvary Baptist Church – TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
